Mubin's Complete New Post

(editor's note: Mubin sent me this particular email 3 times without actually sending me the whole thing. He had to send it to Goldwoman to send to me to post. Post it yourself, Mubin!)

I want to apologize for the tardiness of my latest entry. As many of you know I have switched jobs over the past week and as a result I have been very busy. It has not even been a week and I was already caught running down the hallways with my underwear on my head. So far they love me. A white shoe firm and I go very well together. As an FYI, I also do not have access to this account at work so I will not be able to check emails here as frequently as I would like.

On to bigger and better things. Last week I had the privilege of attending a Jewish singles fundraiser for a very worthy cause. By the way as a digression very good looking crowd and surprisingly almost none of the regular readership was there. As many of know and for those that don't I give off a pheromone that attracts weirdoes. Now while this is a proven fact I must qualify this statement by saying that it has also on rare occasions attracted normal people who I have either dated or become good friends with, but as a rule of thumb, its all about the weirdoes. The pheromone can be very powerful. I have had numeorus nutcases come up to me in one evening. Well what can you do. Everyone has a cross to bear and this one is mine. So I am at the party which by the way I could only stay at for about an hour because of a prior engagement with my mother, and I am speaking with some young ladies for about five minutes. At this point I have been at this party for no more than ten to fifteen minutes and I feel someone's presence at my back. I turn around and there is a young lady who happens to be there. Before I can even open my mouth up she extends her hand and says Hi I'm XXX. (No names we must protect the innocent). Of course being the gentleman that I am I introduce myself and the young ladies. She proceeds to tell us her life story in five minutes without taking a breath, which by the way was less exciting than watching paint dry. Thank the heavens that a buddy of mine comes over at this time and I pawn her off on him. I mean I have a limited amount of time to spend with people especially those that I will never get those minutes back. Also remember the crowd was strong and I didn’t have a limited amount of time. Since my luck is fantastic, I have run into this girl 3 times since the party and she is all over me like white on rice. It's killng me. I finally told her I can’t date bottled blondes, I am all about au natural. For those of you still dating good luck it’s a jungle out there.

Let's give it up for the Western Michigan Broncos who made the tournament and got a number 11 seed. My buddy is an assistant coach for them. Way to go Max. Might want to pick them to win at least one round.

A few things...

Haven't posted in a while. First, Mubin's post of today is not complete - the email he sent me with his diatribe didn't come fully formed, hence the blog is not a fully formed thought. If he only was able to post himself, perhaps we wouldn't run into these situations.

I saw another actress -also from Mona Lisa Smile - today - Maggie Gyllenhaal. I was walking on 13th between 3rd and 4th at about 130 when I past her being photographed in front of a building. It remind me of the time that in the Hamptons last summer a female bartender asked Mubin if he was Jake Gyllenhaal, Maggie's brother. According to Jewhoo they're both Jewish. Sadly, Mubin replied he was not, and therefore didn't get to hang with Kirsten Dunst (who, from Mona Lisa Smile, I have yet to run into).

Why was I on 13th street this afternoon? I'm doing a rotation where there's not much work involved - a few clinics a week - and because of today's 50th anniversary of the 2nd Avenue Deli all corned beef sandwiches were 50 cent, and all potato knishes were a dime. Now, this corned beef is even better than Romanian's (in the Holy City of Chicago) which is saying something. So, armed with the info of cheap deli meats, I tried to arrange some lunch. Everybody's working! Nobody can do lunch! I finally get a resident from work to admit she has nothing to do and will meet me for lunch - but in the interim of getting there her parents call and she ends up hanging with them. So, I have errands to run in Union Square anyways, so I decide to check it out. The line is two blocks long to get in. So I didn't even attempt it - and everyone who was to busy working I guess made the right decision.

The Illini got screwed. Twelve straight wins and Big Ten Champs, and lose the conference title game, and get a 5 seed? Understandable, if Wisconsin gets a 4. But the Badgers get a 6! No respect for the Big Ten. That being said, I don't think they'll go that far this year - maybe the Sweet Sixteen, but I can see them hypothetically upset in the first round.

Had a long fantasy baseball draft last night. Pretty happy with my team - Halladay, Wood, Schilling, Gagne, Vlad, Ichiro et al, but I have some issues. Mike MacDougal? Ugh.

Opening day in 3 weeks!
