A Better Julia Stiles Story

Since Mubin felt my first story about Julia Stiles was boring, here's an alternative:

So I'm walking down Broadway the other day and I pass Julia Stiles on Broadway and 72nd at about 230.
Merlin: Hey, Julia, what's up? I'm a big fan.
Julia: Really, great. It's so nice to hear form my fans. What's your name?
Merlin: Merlin. Listen, I'd love to take you out for a meal. We're on 72nd and Broadway - we can go to Eden Wok, or Dougie's - milchig or fleischig.
Julia: Well, I'm a vegetarian. But I'm in a rush - I'm on Letterman tonight
(Tuesday, March 2
Turkey Calling Champs
Julia Stiles (The Prince and Me)
Jessica Simpson)
and I don't have time to eat.
Merlin: That's ok. How about I walk you downtown?
Julia: That sounds good.

So we're walking south on B'way and pass the new AOL Time Warner center. We chat about her education at Columbia and her movies and her aspirations.

Merlin: You want to go for a quickie in the Mandarian Oriental?
Julia: Sure.

yadda, yadda, yadda, that's why "Turkey Calling Champs" was the first guest on Letterman the other night.

I hope that was a better story. Maybe it ranks up there with Mr. Kevorka's tales of woe.

In other news, the Illini clinched a share of the Big Ten title with a stellar victory at Purdue last night. They've won 9 in a row and could make some noise in the tournament. Also, I still don't have tickets for 7/4 Cubs - Sox at Wrigley, if any of you have any extras let me know.

Kevorkah

The Kevorkah episode was on TBS at 8pm early tonight. Is that a sign about Rubin or maybe a reminder what someone with the Kevorkah is really like. Of course there are about 10 episodes of Seinfeld on everynight ...

The Velvel Forgives All

It seems that some people don't like me and also have overflowing lists of friends. I hate to start things on the wrong foot. To explain myself, I looked at the signings of each post and thought I was ragging on Darrell who was ragging on the other blog-posters. (Darrell, you know I love you.)

Things are a little slower out here in Bumblefuck, so I wasn't as swift on getting the hang of everyone's rapidly changing pseudonyms (Harry Goldballs, The Urinator, etc.) and not knowing I was traveling in hostile territory.

Darrell, am I still on your friends list?

Passed Julia Stiles on the street

I just passed Julia Stiles on the street crossing 72nd Street @ B'way. She's tall. Quite attractive. What films I've seen of hers haven't been great, however - she was pretty wooden in "The Bourne Identity." Maybe when Jenny and Avi go see "Mona Lisa Smile" we could hear how she was in that.

I'm not worried about Mark Prior's strained Achilles. If it was Rothner's (misdiagnosed) Achilles, I'd be more worried, but Prior had the injured Achilles last year and went 10-1 down the stretch.

Also, I added a counter, and we had our first hit from Google - somebody typed in "kevorka" and linked to our site. The wonders of the internet.

Hasselhoff Wears Pink

Saturday night Arlene and I went to a b-day party at Le Marais where we spotted Dan wearing a pink shirt. What is so special about the pink shirt is that back in the 231 W 96th days Dan saw me wearing a pink shirt and swore he would never wear pink because it was too gay for him. Anyway, he looked very pretty.

To see the shirt go to the following link: http://www.gap.com/asp/Product.asp?wdid=103010&wpid=2290163

Drunken Vomiting

So I was having lunch at my place on Saturday afternoon when I was discussing with a few guests (Rivka and Josh) that I had a pretty good alcohol tolerance, and in the course of my life have only vomited 3 times secondary to alcohol. The list:

1) 20th birthday, University of Pennsylvania (made the toilet)
2) January 2002, Phuket, Thailand (voimted in my shoe - classic story that perhaps Avi and Mubin can elaborate upon).
3) December 2002, Underbar, Manhattan (after a residency holiday party, vomited on my suit - the staff at the underbar made me mop up my vomitus before suggest that it may be good for me to leave - like I was going to stay in a vomit stained suit).

That was that until Saturday night, when at a birthday party at the Iguana Club, I had a few too many drinks. But at least I made the toilet.

The Oscars were boring. I feel bad for the one category where the Lord of the Rings didn't win - i think it was Sound editing - when every other person affiliated with the movie won. I feel bad that Bill Murray didn't win either, but Sean Penn did do an amazing job.

The Cubs have sold out 60 of 81 games already - I only have tickets for 7/2 vs. White Sox, and 9/15 (Erev Rosh Hashanah) vs pirates - bleachers. I'll work on some others over 4th of July weekend.
