I was flipping around the TV (on the new RCN cable) and WGN was reporting that the Cubs have signed Greg Maddux and he'll report with pitchers and catchers to Mesa tomorrow. I think this is a good signing, that while the Cubs didn't need Maddux (Juan Cruz would have been adequate) it certainly won't hurt them to have the best rotation in the majors. It's just a shame that Larry Himes had to let his best 11 seasons be spent in Atlanta over a lousy million dollars (and the contracts of the immortal Jose Guzman and Randy Myers).
